One of our program leaders at Thompson once said that parenting is the hardest job with the least amount of training. How true that is, especially in our new reality.
As we continue to build back towards many of the normalcies that we experienced prior to COVID-19, a vast majority of us are struggling to figure out what and where to lean on for support.
Support systems like school and daycare, summer sports and daytime activities; all the things that created a network of aid for our parents continue to not be readily available.
Not being at work for an extended time has made finances that much more of a burden, and stress and new or recurring traumas continue to make the lives of our most vulnerable more difficult.
Will you stand with those that don’t know who to turn to? At Thompson we not only support the children in need, but their whole families, and they need our help!
